Hi Jonathan,

Glad to see all of the progress you’ve made on this!

I had a comment on the design…overall, I’d say it looks fantastic. My only suggestion would be the area that starts with “simply flexible…”. There may be some readability issues with it because some of the shades of green used in the text are not drastically different from the background.

This sounds really good and the website is looking awesome. I was considering wp-commerce but I want to wait for this now. Also, Lighthousapp.com has a pretty simple look too, inspired by Basecamp.

Good point on that one, the site I’m using this combo for won’t be using the issue tracker plugin, and its a pretty small site so it won’t matter too much about upgrades.

I’m really excited about Shopp, I’ll keep an eye on it!

I realize Vanilla is easy to customize with your own theme, but the Issue Tracker plugin says that you have to use a compatible theme which at present is either the default vanilla theme or the Delbat theme.

To play with it, I did get it setup and am using the Delbat theme with the basecamp style. Basecamp is a nice simple look so I think it will lend itself well even if I can’t integrate it into the Shopp website design.

I looked into integrating the login system, and although I believe it is possible, it will be a headache to upgrade either system (WordPress or Vanilla) when there are DB changes.

update: I do, however, agree that a standalone, but fully integrated issue tracker would be the most viable solution.

It is pretty easy to customize, you’d just have to make your own theme for it. The people on the forums that say that they can’t get it to look good integrated into wordpress don’t know what they’re talking about. I’m working on a project with it right now.

Thanks for pointing that out. It looks like I wouldn’t be able to customize the look. At present you have to have “compatible” themes, and I’d of course, like the flexibility of having a seamlessly integrated bug tracker that uses the site’s theme. It’s not a deal breaker. I’ll definitely consider it as a viable option.
