One thing I really need is the ability to simply include a "add to cart" button anywhere on a wordpress page. This would be a huge help as some of my clients are not looking for a traditional store approach, otherwise they would go to a non-wordpress solution. I am looking for seamless integration inline with wordpress content.

Any ideas on this front?

I get more excited about this plugin the more I read. Looking forward to integrating it into a couple of sites.

@Michael: 1000 items, no matter what interface you're using will be tedious to enter. Hopefully, the interface I've designed takes some of the pain out of it.

@Daniel: I'm putting together a list of potential beta testers based on posts here on the blog. I'll largely be basing decisions on who makes it into the beta team by the kind of feedback, insight and/or contributions each person is able to make to the project. I also will be looking for a small segment of non-techie's to help with the beta, as long as they can provide useful feedback during the testing process.

@Falco: I'm very interested in the translation assistance. Right now, I've not done any of the internationalization work on the plugin, though I do plan to have that architecture in place before the beta.

AWESOME!!! I'm looking forward to see Shopp available for the masses! I'm currently working for customers (booksellers) who want to move their commerce activities to the web, and I really like the idea to merge ecommerce and blog features using WP...

If possible, I'd like to add myself to the beta testers list, I'm a senior PHP programmer. I'm also interested in partecipating to a possible translation to italian, besides being an IT professional, I'm also both an italian and english native speaker.

This sounds like an amazing plugin- any chance I can get in on the beta testing? I'm a wordpress theme designer, and I'd like to integrate this into some of my themes...

Sounds absolutely awesome Jonathan. I am really looking forward to testing and working with Shopp. If all goes well, I will have 1000+ items that will be managed by this system.
