The binaries all sit in /usr/bin/ but most people find they get the usual ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) error. Creating a soft link to the /var/mysql/ directory doesn't correct this. Any ideas without having to download and use a fresh copy of mysql? What about the built in mysql that comes with Leopard?
